About teacher yvonne Blom
Online teacher Yvonne introduces herself
My name is Yvonne, and I live in Middelburg, Zeeland, with my partner, our children and two dogs.
As an enthusiastic and motivated teacher, I really enjoy working with children. I have worked in special needs education for almost eighteen years. In recent years, I have been teaching a mixed-age group of middle and upper primary pupils, but in the years before that, I also gained extensive experience in the lower primary years.
When I started working for Dutch for Children, I discovered that my interest was increasingly drawn to the field of Dutch as a second language (NT2). This experience has inspired me to take a new direction and look for a suitable challenge. That is why, starting in August, I will be working as a Dutch NT2 teacher and beginning my training to become one.
Thanks to my many years of professional experience, I know how important it is to build a strong bond with a child. I place great value on a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment that meets the individual needs of every pupil. The relationship with the child is central to this. When a child feels seen, heard, and safe, they have the space to develop and grow to their full potential.
With enthusiasm, commitment and care, I guide children through their learning process and am keen to contribute to their personal and educational development.
The courses I have completed are:
- Professional qualification in physical education
- Teacher Training College (PABO)
- Social Pedagogical Work (SPW)
My work experience:
- 2026–present, Dutch as a Second Language (NT2) teacher, Scalda Goes
- 2025–present, online teacher at DFC
- 2009–2026 Class teacher at SO Keurhove, Middelburg
- 2006–2009 Educational support staff member at KOW, Middelburg
